CITY OF HENDERSON TO HOST PHOTO CONTEST
The city of Henderson is set to host its Trails Photo Contest through August.
The categories include a Henderson trail, a Henderson park, the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve or Henderson wildlife.
Photos and ribbons are scheduled to be awarded to the top three finalists in each category. Awards are to be displayed at the Downtown Recreation Center beginning Oct. 5.
Entries must be mailed or submitted in person to the Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Road, before 5 p.m. Aug. 30.

ORGAN DONORSHIP LECTURE PLANNED FOR AUG. 2
The Nevada Donor Network plans an organ donorship lecture from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway. Registration is required.

LIBRARIES TO OFFER COMPUTER CLASSES
A computer safety class is planned for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway. A Microsoft Word class is planned for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.

THREE ROADWAYS TO RECEIVE IMPROVEMENTS FROM FUEL REVENUE INDEX
The city of Henderson is set to improve three heavily traveled roadways using funds from the Fuel Revenue Index, which is collected each time a motorist fills up his vehicle with gas.
The $4.6 million project is slated to improve traffic flow along Eastern Avenue, Warm Springs Road and Whitney Ranch Drive by replacing asphalt, sidewalk ramps and creating or restriping bicycle lanes.
