Henderson Libraries is continuing its free health series with more seminars on healthy eating and a Zumba class.
Trader Joe's is presenting a class on foods that can improve the immune system from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway. The class includes information, quizzes, prizes and food samples.
A Zumba class is being offered from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace.

HENDERSON OFFERS PHOTO CONTEST
Henderson has announced its "What Makes Henderson Great!" photo contest.
Participants are encouraged to take snapshots of what they appreciate or enjoy about Henderson.
Photos can be of any subject including people, nature, pets, architecture or sports as long as the picture is taken within Henderson's city limits. There is no fee to enter, and photographers can submit up to five photos.
Submission deadline is Dec. 19. All submissions can be emailed to photo.

NV ENERGY SOLAR ENERGY REBATE PROGRAM TO RUN THROUGH WEDNESDAY
NV Energy's Solar Energy Rebate Program is set to be open for applications through Wednesday.
Customers who submit their application in the two-week period will be part of an application process on Sept. 30 for the available rebates. More rebates will be available in the first half of 2012.
Customers also can take advantage of other rebate programs, including solar hot water heating, and wind and hydro rebates.

LEARN TO GROW VEGETABLES IN SMALL SPACES DURING october SEMINAR
Residents can learn about gardening in small places with an upcoming seminar with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
The seminar, which will focus on vegetables, is planned from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road.
Topics such as types of containers to use, differences in potting mixes, using artificial light, fertilizers, success with seeds and more will be covered. Homeowners and other interested residents are welcome to attend.
Class space is limited, and pre-registration is required. The $20 fee includes class materials.

Communitywide Memorial planned
King David Memorial Service and Cemetery is set to sponsor Kever Dorot, traditional memorial services for the generations. During this communitywide event many people visit loved ones' graves and reflect on current relationships.
This program is a complimentary service provided to the entire Southern Nevada Jewish community by King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery. Participants will receive stones to place on their loved ones' graves and a free yahrzeit memorial candle to take home. Everyone is invited to bring a donation of canned or dry food for the food pantry at the Jewish Family Service Agency of Las Vegas.
The event is scheduled at three locations: Woodlawn Cemetery at 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Palm Memorial Park Northwest at 6701 N. Jones Blvd. and King David Memorial Cemetery at 2697 E. Eldorado Lane.
