Hospitals, medical centers located in Summerlin

Summerlin is home to nearly 1 million square feet of medical facilities, including a hospital, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center.

"Having convenient access to medical care is a top priority for many of our residents who value health and wellness," said Kevin Orrock, executive vice president of master-planned communities for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin. "We appreciate the services offered at our various medical facilities. We know healthy residents are happy residents."

Summerlin Hospital Medical Center is a 500,000-plus-square-foot medical center with more than 450 private patient rooms in addition to a 4,000-square-foot rehabilitation center, a maternity unit, 24-hour emergency services and three medical office buildings.

The hospital has more than 1,400 physicians on staff, representing 30 specialties and subspecialties.

The hospital frequently hosts a series of health fairs to educate community members on a wide variety of topics.

Its next health fair, scheduled for Feb. 25 from 9 a.m.-noon in the hospital's lobby, will focus on women's health.

Dr. Souzan El-Eid will speak. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the hospital's new breast care center.

The hospital is centrally located in the community at 657 Town Center Drive.

Summerlin also is home to Nevada's first federally funded and recognized cancer center, Nevada Cancer Institute, a nonprofit, world-class cancer center offering state-of-the-art, comprehensive cancer research, education and treatment.

The $52 million facility houses research labs, patient services, a medical library, auditorium, physician offices and more.

Other medical offices are located throughout Summerlin, allowing residents to receive medical care close to home.
