Infiniti salesman Okosi offers plenty of service with a warm smile

Arthur Okosi is a Park Place Infiniti sales manager with an easy smile and musical accent. Reach out for that first warm handshake and it’s easy to see why he is so successful at both selling cars and managing key aspects of the local dealership’s business.

But to get to the job he now says “feels like home,” Okosi traveled a long and varied road.

“Working here at Park Place Infiniti was something that happened at the spur of the moment for me,” he said. “An opportunity presented itself and I latched onto it.”

Okosi had been a loyal Infiniti driver since 2002.

“Infinitis are the best cars out there,” he said. “Truly, truly, they have the best technology, the best quality, the best bang for my buck.”

Nearly nine years ago, Okosi happened to be at the Infiniti dealership at 5605 W. Sahara Avenue getting his car serviced, when he learned there was a job opening. He got the job and has flourished, he said, especially since the dealership changed hands two years ago to Park Place Dealerships.

“Park Place Infiniti has a different culture than most businesses,” he said. “It’s like they get me, what I think business should be like. There is structure, there is purpose and vision, and it’s all about being an advocate for the client.”

Park Place Infiniti General Manager Joe Tortomasi said Okosi is just the type of “expert in excellence” who embodies the dealership’s focus on client satisfaction and devotion to helping people find the car that best meets their needs.

“Arthur is a natural,” Tortomasi said. “He has a rich background in technology that makes him really great at helping clients understand the benefits and uses of the technology in their Infiniti vehicles.”

Born and raised in Nigeria, Okosi graduated from the University of Lagos with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. His first foray into the working world was with Halliburton in the oil and gas industry. Not long afterward, Okosi started his own business for support services related to the oil and gas industry.

“I have been in sales and customer service for most of my life, and I believe in truly helping clients,” said Okosi, 47. “I ran my own garment store, too. While doing so, I learned a lot about nurturing customer relationships.”

An uncle who worked at the American embassy encouraged him to move to the United States, where he was confident Okosi’s entrepreneurial spirit could triumph.

“He always thought I would do better here in America,” Okosi said. “I’m very adventurous, and my family said to go for it, so I did.”

Founded in 1987 by Ken Schnitzer, Park Place Dealerships represents luxury brands including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, McLaren, Maserati, Lotus and smart.
