Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush will visit North Las Vegas and Reno on Wednesday, his campaign said.

Bush will visit Reno for a noon rally and then head to North Las Vegas for a 5:30 p.m. town hall event, according to his campaign.

No further details were available.

Bush, a former governor of Florida, is a top-tier contender for the GOP nomination and is near the top of most polls. Most polls of Republican voters place Bush second only to real estate mogul Donald Trump, whose controversial statements have attracted wide media coverage in recent weeks.

Some 17 candidates are running for the Republican nod and Nevada's role as an early-voting state with caucuses in February is considered a key indicator in the nomination process.
