KB opens Talavera
October 29, 2011 - 1:05 am
KB Home will celebrate its new Talavera community this weekend by holding its Red Hot Sales Event.
Homebuyers who purchase a residence at the builder's Talavera neighborhood in Mountain's Edge, a master-planned community in the southwestern valley, this weekend could get a an $8,000 credit to spend at the KB Home Studio or use it for closing costs, according to company officials.
The money could go toward the homebuyer's kitchen, master bath retreat, hardwood floors or other personal design details.
Talavera features the builder's signature Built to Order program, Energy Star and Energy Plus certified new homes with a new twist: All homes built will be "solar-ready."
This means that all new homes built at Talavera can easily have solar power systems and/or solar thermal water heating systems added with minimal disruption to the completed home, according to company officials.
If the owners decide they would like to add either of these things to their new home after it is completed, KB Home will refer them to a licensed third-party provider.
The KB homes available at Talavera are designed to help homeowners save money on monthly expenses by earning the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star and NV Energy's Energy Plus certification, without adding solar power. Features like programmable thermostats, radiant-roof barrier, low-e windows and efficient-heating and cooling systems all help keep household utility bills low, according to company officials.
KB Home now includes its Energy Performance Guide in all of its new homes. Similar to an mpg sticker on cars, the EPG provides homebuyers with estimated monthly electric and gas costs for their new home as it was designed.
Home shoppers have their choice of nine floor plans ranging from 1,520 to 2,568 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths and two-car garages.
The one- and two-story homes are designed with great room living areas opening up to outdoor living areas with optional covered patios. Flexible den or loft spaces can be used in a variety of ways or converted to an additional bedroom.
Visit Talavera this weekend from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments served from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
