Las Vegas is the best place to be if you’re single

There are a host of stereotypes surrounding Las Vegas and the single life, but even off the Strip, Las Vegas may be the place to be if you’re single and ready to mingle.

Online dating site Zoosk studied the profiles for nearly 1 million of the site’s U.S. members and found that Las Vegas is the most open-minded city for dating in America.

Zoosk looked at people’s willingness to date someone with different beliefs about potentially hot topics such as religion, children, previous marriages and education. People from Las Vegas were more likely to date someone they didn’t agree with.

Interestingly, other cities that are traditionally known as being forward-thinking or open-minded — such as San Francisco or New York — didn’t make the top five:

2. Detroit

3. Columbus, Ohio

4. Sacramento, Calif.

5. San Antonio, Texas

The least open-minded city for dating was Raleigh, N.C. Like the top five, the bottom five open-minded cities weren’t confined to a single region:

1. Raleigh, N.C.

2. San Jose, Calif.

3. Birmingham, Ala.

4. Richmond, Va.

5. Pittsburgh, Pa.
