Las Vegas salesman commutes from Utah

Veteran automobile executive Scott "Utah" Reber, the No. 1 Dodge salesman in a district that includes Arizona, Nevada, California and portions of Utah, has returned to Towbin Dodge.
"I helped open this store when it opened in early 1999," said 50-year-old Reber of the Valley Automall dealership. "This store instantly became the top-selling dealership in the city and it remains No. 1 in the country for Dodge dealerships."
Reber, a former standout high school and Brigham Young University fullback who played in the Jim McMahan-era under Coach Lavelle Edwards in the late 1970s and early 1980s, is still running full-speed ahead.
Interestingly, Reber actually lives in Pinto, Utah, near Cedar City. He flies back and forth, dropping off cars and picking up customers on a daily basis in an array of Cessnas.
"I live a great life," said Reber, who also enjoys spending time with his grandson, Gage.
"I'm either flying my airplane, working on my ranch, fishing in Mexico or selling cars or all three at one time."
Although the car business requires immense dedication and hours, Reber could not imagine doing anything else to make a living. He still remembers that his first day in the car business was in December 1982.
"The reason I like the car business is because of all the people I get to meet," he said from his office. "I'm one of the few people who can honestly say he loves his job."
With Towbin Automotive opening Prestige Chrysler Jeep Dodge recently in the northwest valley, Reber can now sell Chrysler and Jeep models along with highline vehicles from Towbin Motor Cars, including Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Infiniti at Towbin Motor Cars along with the smart car.
"There is not a car salesman in the country who has the opportunity that I have," Reber said. "When you add in the fact that it's really easy to buy a car here with a relaxed atmosphere, it creates a win-win atmosphere for all involved."
"Dodge now has a Ram pickup that's second to none," said Reber, whose years in the car business have created a long line of customers in states including Alask and Maine and countries, including Australia. "This year, it has the ride, the look and the comfort and the performance that everyone wants."
Reber added that Dodge is the only manufacturer that does not require a diesel fuel supplement known as DFS.
"Normally when you own a 2011 or newer diesel truck, it requires diesel fuel supplement which is extra expense," he explained. "However, Dodge Ram diesel pickups burn so emission free that DFS is not required. The trucks cost less to own and operate because of that."
In fact, the truck was hailed "truck of the year" for 2010 by Motor Trend Magazine.
