Lennar buys homesites in Southern Highlands

Lennar announced it has purchased 114 homesites in Southern Highlands, a 2,700-acre private, gated golf course community in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

According to Lennar officials, these homes are poised to be the area's largest and most luxury-oriented collection of new homes.

Lennar officials said the company is aggressively buying new land and expanding throughout the area.

They said while many new-home builders are reducing and contracting their presence in the market, they are trying to buy land and open new-home communities.

"We feel honored that we have been able to serve the needs of homebuyers throughout the valley for so many years and will continue to do so for years to come," said Jeremy Parness, division president. "We are bullish on the prospects for recovery and growth in Las Vegas in particular and are eager to purchase more land in this economy."

This brand-new neighborhood will consist of luxury single-family homes that measure as much as 4,999 square feet.

These homes on oversized homesites will offer the Everything's Included package that includes upgraded features.

In addition, Lennar also will be introducing the Next Gen - the home within a home floor plan, designed specifically for multigenerational living.
