Man drives stolen car to pick up court papers for another stolen car

A Florida man drove a stolen car to police headquarters to pick up court papers related to another stolen car charge, Fox-CT reported — papers that were originally found in another stolen car.

Carnell Eugene Butler, 18, is facing charges in three stolen car cases, authorities said, per the report.

St. Petersburg police said they found a stolen Infiniti on Oct. 4. Inside the car, they found Butler's documents related to an auto theft arrest from June.

Detectives reached out to Butler and arranged to have the documents picked up, the report said.

When Butler arrived at the station, detectives found keys to a stolen Hyundai Sonata, located a block away, in his pocket.
