Man fakes burglary to miss work

A Florida man didn’t want to go into work on Monday, so naturally, faking a burglary was the best option. According to the Tampa Bay Times, 31-year-old Dwayne Yeager called authorities just after 7 a.m. and reported that his house had been broken into.

Police saw no sign of forced entry and talked to his neighbors, which told the deputies that they had seen Yeager leave his house at about 6:30 a.m. and return at 7:15 a.m and then open the blinds and front bedroom window.

Yeager later admitted he made the whole thing up to avoid going into work. He was arrested on one count of providing false information to law enforcement, and later released on bail. Watch the full report below:
