Man gets out of ticket after tree falls on citing officer

An Iowa man got out of a ticket recently after a tree fell on the police officer who had pulled him over.

A 30-foot oak tree fell directly on Centerville Police Officer Jeremy Veach during a traffic stop, but left him with only scrapes, bruises and 3 stitches in his elbow, according to Fox 2.

The owners of the tree said the tree appeared to be healthy and that it was a freak accident.
