Mechanic leads woman to buy 2013 Hyundai

Carol Moorhouse discovered about a month ago that her older vehicle was nearly ready for the junkyard. Her mechanic told her to start looking for a Hyundai, so she headed for Planet Hyundai Centennial.

Now the owner of 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited, Moorhouse researched the reviews of the vehicle and could not be happier with her purchase.

"I knew eventually that I was going to need a car, but figured it would be the end of the summer before I bought," said Moorhouse, who is a store manager for Coach leatherware on the Las Vegas Strip. "It was kind of an impulse buy, but I don't regret it at all. The car looks good and it feels good. My neighbor has an older Hyundai, and when he saw me show up with my new one, he assured me that I got a good car. He said I'd never regret getting the car."

Moorhouse, a native of Fargo, N.D., loves the steering wheel and the mechanics included.

"I have never had a car with all the gadgetry and controls on the steering wheel. I like being able to talk when I'm driving," she said. "I also like how it feels because it's so roomy. It's almost like a cockpit. And I really like the navigation."

Moorhouse plans to travel to Southern California soon, allowing her to fully appreciate the fuel mileage and handling of the Elantra.

"I drive a half-hour to work every day, and I don't fill up this car near as much as I did my old VW Jetta. The Elantra has been averaging 32 to 34 miles a gallon."

In addition, the 10-year, 100,000-mile engine and five-year, 60,000-mile, bumper-to-bumper warranties were convincing factors.

"My mechanic, Kenny Bell of KB Mobile, told me about the warranties with Hyundai. He works on cars all day long, and he's a big believer in Hyundai," Moorhouse said.

Planet Hyundai Centennial operates from a 39,000-square-foot building on five acres near Ann Road and U.S. Highway 95.
