Michigan retirees call Terra Bella condo home
When Carmela and Tony Werth moved to Nevada from Michigan, they were looking for more than just a climate change.
"We wanted to live somewhere relaxed and calm -- and be able to lock and leave it whenever we travel. We found that at Terra Bella," Carmela Werth said.
Terra Bella is the only luxury, age-qualified condominium development in Anthem, a Henderson master-planned community. Anthem is a 5,000 acre community that includes golf courses, trails, recreation areas, shopping centers and professionally landscaped common areas.
"Initially, we were drawn to Terra Bella because we loved the floor plans -- very spacious and some great breathtaking views," Carmela Werth said. "But then we toured the lush landscaping and the large swimming pool and spa with the beautiful waterfall, and we realized how relaxing and calm this community is. We're at that point in life when it's nice to kick back and enjoy, and Terra Bella is a great place to do that."
The gated neighborhood includes multiple amenities for a social, active lifestyle. The fitness center and clubhouse include a fully equipped work-out facility, entertainment areas and full kitchen. Residents and their guests have access to the resort-style swimming pool and spa, covered barbecue cabanas and an outdoor covered patio with lounge areas and a fireplace.
"We love our neighbors at Terra Bella," Carmela Werth said. "Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We get together socially for events at the clubhouse and pool; or a few of us get together for dinner. Some of us are local and some of us are from other parts of the country."
Terra Bella residents include homeowners from Illinois, Napa Valley, Arizona, New York and North Carolina. Some live primarily at Terra Bella, while others use it as their second home.
Each three-story building features elevators and an interior courtyard accessible only to residents of the building. The landscaped courtyards include tall palm trees that extend the height of each building and sitting areas with tables and chairs. The courtyards are visible from all three levels in the building.
Terra Bella's five oversized floor plans range from about 1,400 to 2,200 square feet.
Interiors details include gourmet kitchens with granite countertops. All units include enclosed garages. High-end finishes such as granite, tile, plush carpet and upscale cabinetry are standard features. The architectural design of the buildings is striking, and many homes feature views of the Strip and surrounding scenery.
"Buying into this one-of-a-kind community is a great investment for the future," Carmela Werth said.
Prices in the community start in the high $100,000s and homeowners association fees are $221 per month, according to company officials.
Terra Bella's sales office and five model homes are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to the entrance of the Anthem master plan. Veer left at Anthem's entrance and continue to Hampton Road. Turn west on Hampton Road and look for Terra Bella's sales office on the left.
