Midwest transplant loves Las Vegas weather

When Mark Hatting moved to Las Vegas from Minneapolis six years ago, it wasn't just for the weather.

"My family loves it here, although we miss the leaves changing in the fall, but that's about it," said Hatting, who's been in the car business his entire career and recently moved from sales at Fletcher Jones Lexus to Internet sales manager at Fletcher Jones Toyota.

Hatting encourages customers to use the Internet to not only shop for a new or preowned car, but to educate themselves about options and specifications.

"You can do it all through the computer, but eventually, you have to come in to pick up your car," Hatting said. "That's where I think the Internet is a bonus because you've already established a relationship with someone and you have a name to ask for when you arrive at the dealership."

Internet sales at Fletcher Jones Toyota originate from all over the country, said Hatting, who oversees a four-member team. "We certainly have a diversified clientele. In fact, we'll have customers fly into town, buy their car and then drive it home," he said. "I think because of the reputation of our dealerships gives people the confidence to seek us out on the Internet first."

Hatting's reputation in sales is also reflected in the number of local customers who seek his personal assistance.

"There are some people who don't want to use the Internet, and that's fine with us," Hatting said. "I guess that says a little bit about me, too."

Fletcher Jones Toyota is located at 3255 E. Sahara Ave. and can be reached by calling 457-2000 or visiting www.fjtoyota.com. Hatting can be personally contacted by calling 813-7560 or e-mailing him at mark@fletcher jonestoyota.com.
