Mini Maker Faire set for downtown

Show and tell isn’t just for kids.

The second-annual Las Vegas Mini Maker Faire is calling for exhibitors, performers and sponsors. The event, which has been likened to a science fair, puts the creations of tinkerers and dreamers on display.

“We are looking for engineering projects, culinary adventurers, robots, wearable art, electronic marvels and print makers to name a few,” organizer Pawel Szymczykowski said.

Sponsors so far include the Downtown Project and also the Syn Shop and Las Vegas Hackerspace. More sponsors are being sought.

Last year’s highlights included robots, interactive light and sound displays and live performances.

Noncommercial makers can participate for free. Exhibitors can register for $100.

The event is tentatively set for April 6 at The Learning Village, 715 Fremont St.
