Mom apologizes for daughters’ rude theater behavior on Facebook

When an Alabama woman found out her children were being obnoxious during a movie, she went above and beyond to make an apology.

Kyesha Smith Wood, of Birmingham, posted to Facebook looking for a woman her children disturbed during a movie to apologize on their behalf.

She posted that she had dropped off her teenage son, daughter and step-daughter, both 13, at the movies to see “Cinderella,” according to ABC News.

Wood wrote that she was embarrassed to find out the two girls were disrespectful and ruined a woman’s night, “After the movie she approached my girls and told them that her husband had been laid off and this was the last movie she would be able to take her daughter to for a while and my girls ruined that for her.”

She then offered to have the girls write an apology letter and pay for their next movie and snacks.

Sgt. Jack Self shared Wood’s post on the Jefferson County Sheriff Facebook page and it was liked more than 250,000 times and shared more than 50,000 times.

The woman Wood is addressing in the post, Rebecca Boyd, commented on the post, “I have no hard feelings towards them and I am proud of their parents. The girls are not bad … they are children. Glad they are learning a lesson.”

Wood’s daughters will give up some allowance money for Boyd’s next trip to the movies, according to the Facebook post.
