MOVIES: Special screenings — all in a day’s (lens) work
July 20, 2011 - 6:18 pm
July 24, 2010, might not seem like a special day.
But for more than 80,000 people around the world — including local UNLV grad Andrea Walter — last July 24 provided a chance to focus on daily life for "Life in a Day," a documentary project produced by director Ridley Scott ("Gladiator," "Black Hawk Down").
The cinematic time capsule, designed to show future generations what it was like to be alive on the designated date, debuts at 7:24 p.m. Sunday — one year after the footage was shot. (The 80,000 submissions, totaling 4,500 hours of footage, have been cut to about 90 minutes for the theatrical debut.)
