N.H. teen hits 100 mph driving wrong way on highway
CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire authorities say a teen driving in the wrong lanes of Interstate 93 at speeds of more than 100 mph traveled about 35 miles before troopers used spike strips to stop her car.
Police did not identify the 16-year-old, unlicensed driver.
Tilton police notified state troopers of the car travelling southbound in the northbound lane of I-93 early Sunday morning.
Troopers say they located the car north of Concord, but the driver refused to stop.
Police drove parallel to the car — at speeds of up to 118 mph — through the Hooksett toll booth and to the Amoskeag Bridge exit in Manchester.
The car — a Toyota RAV4 —continued for a short distance after hitting the spike strips. The teen was taken into custody.
Police are continuing their investigation.
