New releases for week of Sept. 1
September 1, 2009 - 4:00 am
Some new series installments are expected out this week.
“Evil at Heart” by Chelsea Cain finds killer Gretchen Lowell still on the loose, but sensationalistic news coverage has made her famous instead of feared, sparking a bizarre kind of fan club. Detective Archie Sheridan, who had gotten Gretchen to agree not to kill anyone else, is forced back into action after a new body is found marked by the Beauty Killer’s trademark heart.
“Catching Fire,” the second in Suzanne Collins’ “Hunger Games” series also is expected out this week. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have little time to enjoy their win at the annual Hunger Games as they find themselves in the middle of a rebellion.
Also hitting shelves: “Bounce Back: Overcoming Setbacks to Succeed in Business and in Life” by John Calipari; “Clean Food: A Seasonal Guide to Eating Close to the Source with More Than 200 Recipes for a Healthy and Sustainable You” by Terry Walters; “Dark Slayer” by Christine Feehan; “The Death of Bunny Munro” by Nick Cave; “The Death of Conservatism” by Sam Tanenhaus; “A Gate at the Stairs” by Lorrie Moore; “Green: The Beginning and the End (Circle Series)” by Ted Dekker; “Homer & Langley” by E.L.
