Obama fails to earn the Hispanic vote
October 24, 2012 - 8:38 am
Given how President Barack Obama totally and indisputably screwed Hispanic voters on immigration reform in his first term, it's incredible that any Hispanic would consider giving him a second term.
You know the story. But let me recap.
In 2008, Obama told Univision's Jorge Ramos this: "What I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I'm promoting."
Guarantee? Well, four years later, Obama failed to advance any immigration reform bill, even though he controlled both houses of Congress.
Now, the president is back asking Hispanics to vote for him again to which Ramos said: "A promise is a promise, and with all due respect, you didn't keep that promise."
The "fool me once" saying applies. Why any self-respecting Hispanic in Nevada (or anywhere else for that matter) would buy this guy's rhetoric again, is amazing.
President Obama hasn't earned the vote of the Hispanic community. He screwed Hispanics once ... and he will, without doubt, screw Hispanics again.
PS: I will be writing more on this and other spectacular Obama "guarantee" failures in Sunday's column. Please tune it.
