ACCOUNTING

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval appointed L. Ralph Piercy, a shareholder and co-founder of Piercy Bowler Taylor & Kern, and Nicola Neilon, a partner with Casey, Neilon & Associates, to the Nevada Board of Accountancy.

Gerety & Associates CPAs promoted Irene M. Wandtke to director.

ENGINEERING

Stanley Consultants named Chuck Joseph operations manager and senior project manager. Joseph is responsible for the operations of the Las Vegas office including management of projects, client service, business development and quality assurance.

LAW

Alicia R. Ashcraft and Jeffery F. Barr opened Ashcraft & Barr | LLP law office in Southern Nevada. The firm will specialize in business law, corporate law, government relations, commercial real estate and land use law, gaming law, medical marijuana, commercial litigation, crisis management and regulatory compliance law.

The Las Vegas office of Snell & Wilmer elected Nevada attorneys Marek Bute and Justin Carley to partner. In addition to Bute and Carley, Snell & Wilmer’s firm-wide new partners include: David G. Barker, Manuel H. Cairo, Timothy J. Dance, Brian P. Gaffney, Robert F. Kethcart, Eric L. Kintner, Kelly A. Kszywienski, Michael T. Liburdi, Amelie Bredas Messingham, William F. Mulholland II, Eric M. Lionel Sawyer & Collins named new shareholders (one from each of the firm’s three departments): Jennifer Gaynor of gaming and regulatory law, Kevin Hejmanowski of litigation and Christopher Walther of business law.

McDonald Carano Wilson LLP named attorneys Kristen Gallagher and Amanda Yen to the firm’s partnership. Gallagher practices primarily in the area of commercial litigation and is also a member of the firm’s employment law practice group. Yen practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, appellate law and employment law.

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada named Patrice Ross vice president of human resources. Ross previously served as the chief human resources officer for United Way of Southern Nevada and a human resources professional with WSI — Nevada, a prime security contractor for the Department of Energy’s Nevada National Security Site.

REAL ESTATE

NAIOP Southern Nevada chapter named its officers for 2014: Mike Montandon of Insight Investment Partners, president; Charles Van Geel of American Nevada Company, president-elect; Kirk Boylston of EJM Development Co., immediate past president; Dana Berggren of Avison Young, secretary; and John Restrepo of RCG Economics LLC, treasurer.
