GOVERNMENT

Henderson Libraries named Angela Thornton executive director. Thornton comes to Henderson Libraries from Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library in Oklahoma City, Okla., where she has served as manager since 2010.

HOSPITALITY

Recent graduates of The International School of Hospitality have landed jobs, including Lucia Tovalin as event coordinator at By DZign in Las Vegas; Karen Gualajara as guest services agent at Caesars Palace; Bailey Dutton as furniture, fixtures and equipment expeditor at Caesars Entertainment; and Ivette Retirado as concierge at Entertainment Benefits Group in Las Vegas.

LAW

Lewis Roca Rothgerber gaming partner Anthony Cabot was honored by the UNLV Gaming Law Journal with a new award in his name. UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law student Kerry Kleiman received the inaugural “Anthony Cabot Award for Best Student Note” for her paper titled “Keeping Casinos Clean: The Problem with Dirty Money and International Differences in Anti-Money Laundering Regulations for Casinos.” The award was named after Cabot in recognition for the contributions he has made to the gaming law profession.

MARKETING

Leisure and lifestyle marketing agency SK+G named Matt Maynard senior interactive campaign manager, Jaclyn Schultz media planner/buyer, Irene Pahang print production assistant and Rebecca Koonce account coordinator.

NONPROFIT

Lionel Sawyer & Collins shareholder Elizabeth Brickfield has joined the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council. For the past five years, she has been honored by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. Brickfield also serves on the board of trustees of the CSN Foundation, the development arm of the College of Southern Nevada. When she is not involved in public service, Brickfield practices tax and family law, including estate planning, trusts and estates, guardianship matters and probate.

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance appointed Perry Ursem to vice president of business retention and expansion. Ursem will use his institutional knowledge and experience with regional and international businesses operating from Southern Nevada to explore undeveloped opportunities through regulatory, supply chain and market development.
