Pardee helps charity

Today kicks off the start of the final week of Project Playhouse, which features six one-of-a-kind pet and people playhouses on display in a fundraiser to benefit HomeAid Southern Nevada. Pardee Homes once again has a big role in the event with its Dream A Little Dream custom playhouse and matching Dug's Dog House pet house.
The pet and playhouses are on display through June 2 at the Children's Park at Town Square, 6611 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Prize-drawing tickets are $5 each and are sold at the Project Playhouse Shoppe. Check homeaidsn.org for daily hours.
Pardee's Dream A Little Dream playhouse will be part of the live auction to be held at 6:30 p.m. June 1.
The playhouse measures 8 feet by 10 feet and features a bay window with a seat, laminate wood floors, bead board and beam ceiling, a Dutch entry door and copper trim. It is air conditioned, too, and comes with a flat-screen TV/DVD installed.
Dug's Dog House is equally charming but on a smaller scale. Measuring 4 feet by 6 feet, the pet house has a roof that lifts to allow for easy cleaning and will be featured in the raffle drawing to be held at 4 p.m. June 2.
"Pardee Homes has been a longtime supporter of HomeAid and Project Playhouse," said Klif Andrews, Pardee's Southern Nevada division president and HomeAid's Southern Nevada chapter president. "And, we are joined by many of our builder partners who all pitch in to lend their support to this worthwhile cause."
Project Playhouse is an annual fundraiser for HomeAid Southern Nevada, which works to partner service providers with the building industry in an overall effort to build and maintain dignified housing to allow homeless families and individuals the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
"This is our fourth Project Playhouse event, and the response so far has been terrific," said Kathleen Dye, executive director of HomeAid Southern Nevada. "We have a lot planned this final week, including pet adoptions with Second Chance Animal Rescue today at 11 a.m. with Alana Lee, Miss Nevada 2011, and Zowie Bowie and next Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m."
In addition, Pulte Homes donated Pet Republic, a 7-by-4-foot pet house with a tiled swimming pool and bamboo cabana.
Other Project Playhouse participants include Fusion Sign & Design, which donated Rock of Vegas, an 8-by-10-foot playhouse with all things for rock 'n' roll lovers, including an autographed Vince Neil guitar, and Gold Mine, a 4-by-6-foot pet house with a water wheel.
Quinn Dala donated Leopard's Den, which measures 2½ feet by 2 feet and was designed for the smaller pampered pet, complete with bed, curtain and a $50 PetSmart gift card.
