Pardee Homes celebrates green

Pardee Homes will celebrate Earth Day with the opening of Solstice, its newest Southern Nevada neighborhood. Grand opening events are planned today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Located in the master-planned community of Aliante in North Las Vegas, the neighborhood features the builder's LivingSmart brand that offers standard and optional measures that boost energy efficiency and conserve water and materials.

Grand opening events have a living-green focus, including: cooking demonstrations with a sustainable pantry theme; a guest appearance by local gardening authority Linn Mills, who will talk about growing vegetables and herbs in the desert climate; children's sustainable peat pot decorating and planting station and seed bookmark giveaways.

The five floor plans at Solstice will range from 2,337 to 3,959 square feet with as many as six bedrooms. Prices at the gated neighborhood are anticipated to start from the low $200,000s.

Solstice is located just off Aliante Parkway and Nature Park Drive, within walking distance to the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park in Aliante, as well as close to retail and restaurants, schools, Aliante Library and access to Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway.

The five plans include such features as expanded three-car garages, bonus rooms, loft, optional office/library configuration, island kitchens, separate living and dining areas and with as many as seven bedrooms.

The single-story Plan One at Solstice measures 2,337 square feet with three bedrooms, two baths and a den, which can be built as an optional fourth bedroom and third bath.

The two-story Plan Two measures 2,664 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths, including a bedroom and full bath located on the first floor. The Plan Two X adds a bonus room or optional sixth and seventh bedroom and a full-bath to the Plan Two floor plan and measures 3,110 square feet.

Solstice Plan Three is a two-story plan that measures 3,643 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths. The floor plan includes a bonus room and den or optional fifth bedroom and third bath.

Plan Four measures 3,959 square feet with six bedrooms, four baths, downstairs library, bedroom and full-bath, upstairs loft and optional guest suite option with a private bath in lieu of fifth and sixth bedrooms.

The opening of Solstice marks the first new-home neighborhood to open in the master-planned community this year.
