Planet sales consultant Walker believes in Hyundai

Planet Hyundai Centennial sales consultant Rick Walker is a Sumter, S.C., native and a 12-year veteran of the car business who has sold about 2,400 new and used vehicles during his career.

The friendly seven-year Las Vegas resident has sold 12 new-car lines and rates Hyundai the best of the bunch.

"I sold my first Hyundai working for (former Denver Broncos quarterback) John Elway Mazda/Olds/Hyundai in Westminster, Colo., in October of 1996. It's absolutely amazing what Hyundai has done with its line of vehicles in the past 16 years."

Walker's first Hyundai was a Special Edition 1997 Elantra SE with alloy wheels and a spoiler.

"I enjoyed the car because value for the dollar was No. 1," he said. "My Elantra did it all including providing excellent gas mileage at a price that I could afford."

Since then, Hyundai has surged in sales to become the No. 1 automobile manufacturer in owner loyalty and customer satisfaction and top rated by Kelly Blue Book for its trade-in value.

"In addition, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra was (Motor Trend's) Car of the Year."

If Hyundai needed a dyed-in-the-wool believer of its product, the carmaker needn't go any further. Even Walker's his wife, Trudy, drives a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata .

"She liked her old Hyundai and loves this one even more. She just told me on the phone that she would not own anything but a Hyundai and she recommends it to anybody and everybody. Between the two of us, we have owned seven Hyundais; and we bought every one of them new," he said.

Each Hyundai comes with a 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty along with a five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.

"There is not a better warranty in the country," Walker said. "I believe in this car and the company that stands behind it. I never have to worry when selling someone a Hyundai. My father once said if you don't have your integrity, you have nothing - and I'm always comfortable selling someone a Hyundai. I sleep well at night."
