Prestige showcases new look, power of Ram 1500

The new Ram 1500 has been named Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year for 2013. An American favorite of truck enthusiasts for decades, Ram is gaining momentum as one of the fastest-growing manufacturers, according to Prestige Chrysler Jeep Dodge.

The reason? The Ram 1500’s recent award-winning redesign is causing drivers to take a fresh look. Since winning the award, the 2013 Ram 1500 has outsold much of the competition, dealership officials said.

The dealership said drivers are praising the truck’s powerful engine, great fuel economy and stylish interior. The truck is rated to get as much as 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg city mileage, up from the 2012 model’s 20 mpg highway and 13 mpg city.

Another upgraded feature of the 2013 Ram 1500 is its engine. Featuring a V-6 or optional V-8 engine, drivers will feel the power expected from a truck and a smoother ride, according to the dealership. The V-8 engine also has higher torque and a greater towing capacity than many trucks in its class.

The 2013 Ram 1500 is one of only a few trucks in its class with independent suspension. Independent suspension allows for a smooth ride and superior handling, dealership officials said.

The truck also is being recognized for its roomy and stylish interior, which can seat four to six passengers, depending on the model, they said.

Technology also plays a large part in the upgraded interior with easy-to-use audio and climate controls, a standard universal serial bus port, and optional voice-controlled infotainment system. With an 8.4-inch touch screen, drivers will be able to control these features at their fingertips.

The 2013 Ram 1500 is available at for test-driving at Prestige Chrysler Jeep Dodge in the northwestern valley.
