Report: Reid-McConnell “Plan B” to be unveiled

A compromise debt ceiling bill that could represent a last-ditch attempt to stave off government default is on track to be released next week by Senate leaders Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, according to The Hill.

The Capitol Hill newspaper and website attributes the information to a Senate Democratic aide. A Thursday unveiling could give Congress enough time to pass it by an Aug. 2 drop-dead date, says the piece written by Alexander Bolton.
