Retired doctor, wife buy 2013 Elantra from Planet

Dr. Marc Pomerantz and his wife, Bonnie, have been buying vehicles for 30 years and really weren't looking forward to another purchase. That is, until the couple visited Planet Hyundai Centennial to buy a 2013 Elantra from the northwest valley dealership.

"It handles nicely, it's very smooth and very comfortable," said Marc Pomerantz, a New York native who eventually moved to Las Vegas in 1986. "It drives very nicely in town and handles well. The air conditioning is fantastic. The controls are very easy to manage and are very user-friendly."

After owning several bigger cars over the years, the couple was not interested in a larger vehicle. The Elantra was a perfect fit.

"It really is perfect for us," said Pomerantz, who was an interventional radiologist before retiring last August. "I do a lot of reading and I know that Hyundai has made dramatic improvements over the years. Safety was very important to us and so was reliability, fuel mileage and customer satisfaction - along with cost."

In addition, Hyundai's warranty was almost unmatched in the couple's search. Hyundai provides a 10-year, 100,000-mile power train warranty along with a five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage.

"The Elantra's excellent safety rating was very important to us," said Pomerantz, adding that he and his wife also were happy with the deal they received for their trade-in.

However, equally important was the treatment the couple experienced at the dealership, which is spearheaded by General Manager Skip Shakely. In fact, the couple drove to the dealership from their home in Henderson.

"The little bit of a drive was well worth the treatment we received," Pomerantz said.

"There were no games at all here," Bonnie Pomerantz said, adding that their sales consultant Craig Price was knowledgeable and friendly. "We felt no pressure at all. They let us feel like we were family and free to make our own decision without the typical dealership pressure encountered at other dealerships . It was such a pleasant and wonderful experience. Everyone here was very nice."
