Rory to launch more attacks

Democrat Rory Reid is loading up for a new attack on Republican Brian Sandoval in the race for Nevada governor, according to a fund raising e-mail.

The e-mail from Reid campaign manager David Cohen to supporters accuses Sandoval of "throwing stones from afar" but not delivering substance, such as the much-anticipated plan to balance the budget Sandoval has promised but not issued.

"How could anyone know what he would do as governor? This brazen disregard for Nevada’s voters can’t go unnoticed. We’re preparing to expose him, but we need your help to get it on air," Cohen wrote in asking supporters to donate $20 to the cause.

Sandoval leads Reid in every public poll so far, in most samples by double-digits. But the race has tightened in recent weeks as Democrats, who hold a registration advantage, are solidifying behind Reid.

A major dive by The Latino Voter Registration Project has reportedly registered 10,000 voters in Nevada, most of whom are likely to favor Reid.

Sandoval and Reid are scheduled to debate Thursday, their final adversarial appearance together before early voting starts Oct. 16.
