SheaXero at Ardiente saves energy
July 28, 2012 - 1:03 am
Although home sales have been down across the country in recent years, in the past three months, Shea Homes Active Lifestyle Communities has experienced its highest sales rate since 2008, according to company officials. In fact, at Ardiente, Shea Homes has already sold more homes in 2012 than in all of 2011, they said.
Shea Homes offers the SheaXero - The No Electric Bill Home, which combines solar power and energy efficient features to eliminate electric bills, saving homeowners thousands of dollars. Shea Homes at Ardiente doesn't charge extra for solar features, according to company officials.
William and Vivian Cade, recent Shea Homes buyers, discovered SheaXero features save them money.
"We just invested in a new SheaXero home, and we're so excited about the eco-friendliness and energy efficiency of our new home. We're also ready for the freedom of no longer having an electric bill and are planning what we're going to do with the savings every month," William Cade said.
High-powered solar power systems are at the heart of each SheaXero home, producing clean and renewable energy to save money and offset electricity consumption.
Company officials said that on an annual basis, for an average family of two, SheaXero homes generate as much energy as they use and come standard with energy-saving features such as Whirlpool Energy Star appliances, Trane energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, low-e2 vinyl windows and blown-in insulation.
Coupled with the SheaXero standard is Shea Homes' award-winning design, which includes abundant natural light, open floor plans, ergonomic vanity countertops and the builder's signature Five Sided Architecture.
Since 2007, Shea Homes has built 3,000 green-certified homes, surpassing the industry benchmarks for green construction, resource conservation and energy efficiency.
To date, Shea green homes have saved homeowners a collective $7 million in energy costs, 65 million kilowatt hours of electricity and abated 96 million pounds of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of taking 6,000 cars off the road or restoring 350 acres of rainforest.
Company officials said Shea Homes Active Lifestyle Communities are high-end retirement resort communities that offer a new choice to those looking for an exciting lifestyle that revolves around wellness, exploration, continued learning and close personal connections.
The brand offers business services, world-class clubs, fitness facilities and a diverse range of recreation and education opportunities.
