SheaXero home features solar panels to reduce power bills

SheaXero homes' energy-saving features are being offered at all new Shea Homes at Ardiente. They can reduce and may even eliminate electric bills, saving homeowners as much as $3,000 a year, according to Shea Homes at Ardiente's sales manager, Ryan Smith.

He said homeowners in the age-qualified community may be motivated to buy for different reasons, but they've all come to the same conclusion - they want the best of both worlds in retirement: to enjoy a resort-style community while also having the practicality of living nearly electric bill-free in a SheaXero home.

SheaXero has features that combine solar power and energy-efficient amenities in all of Trilogy's new homes that work together to ultimately eliminate electric bills. Currently Shea Homes isn't charging extra for its solar power system.

New homes in the community include the Vacation Collection. Prices start in the $120,000s.

Two sisters, Deb Dwelly and Kat Snell, were eager to leave the cold weather of New Hampshire for the warm and sunny climate at Shea Home's Ardiente community in North Las Vegas.

Dwelly was first impressed with the quality of the home.

"We were looking to buy at a 55-plus community, and the homes at Ardiente are phenomenal," she said. " My dad was a builder and he would say these homes are on point.

"We liked these homes anyway, and when they said they included solar and didn't have an electric bill, we were absolutely out of our minds," Dwelly said.

They moved into their home in September and they said they started saving on their electricity bills right away.

"We are just over the moon about SheaXero and the community overall," Snell said.

On an annual basis for an average family of two, SheaXero homes generate as much energy as they use. The system comes standard with 14 energy-saving features such as Jenn-Air Energy Star appliances, Trane energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, low-emissivity-3 vinyl windows and blown-in cellulose insulation.

Minutes away from the Strip and close to the desert mountains, Ardiente offers residents a community that promotes wellness, exploration, continued learning and close, personal connections.

At the hub of the community is a private 20,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring two resort-style pools, an expansive fitness center, group exercise studio and a multipurpose meeting facility.
