SheaXero home saves retirees money on monthly utilities
Shea Homes at Ardiente, a North Las Vegas age-qualified community, is offering a way for retirees to save money with its SheaXero — No Electric Bill Homes.
Ardiente community manager Kyle Tibbitts said SheaXero is Shea’s new standard for 55-and-older communities. It reduces and helps to eliminate monthly electricity bills through floor plan and construction designs, solar power and 14 energy-efficient features, he said.
“With our green home, we are eco-friendly and more economical,” SheaXero homeowner Ray Kristall said. “We actually don’t mind opening our electric bills.”
Another owner, Glenn Erdell, agrees with Kristall.
“Our community is ahead of the curve with their SheaXero homes,” he said. “They had the three things that were important to us: low cost, environmental responsibility and social responsibility.”
Recently, Most Trusted Builders in America’s Lifestory Research study ranked Trilogy by Shea Homes No. 1 in the nation for customer trust.
Shea Homes at Ardiente is part of the Trilogy family.
“Owners like this are perfect examples of prospective homebuyers recognizing Shea’s innovative offering,” Tibbitts said. “Not only are you getting freedom from expensive electric bills, but you get the freedom to follow your passions. That is what’s priceless.”
SheaXero energy-saving features include Whirlpool Energy Star appliances, Trane energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, low-e3 vinyl windows, cathedralized attic insulation and blown-in insulation.
Ardiente isn’t charging extra its solar system now, Tibbitts said.
At the hub of the gated community is a private 20,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring two resort-style pools, fitness center, group exercise studio and access to miles of walking trails.
SheaXero homes prices start in the $160,000s. Vacation Series homes start from the $140,000s.
