Sisters in Crime chapter forming
October 13, 2008 - 1:50 pm
A Sisters in Crime chapter is forming in Southern Nevada. The group is primarily for women who write mysteries — or who hope to — but is open to readers and fans, librarians and others in the book field. Men also can join.
An informational meeting about the group is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cheesecake and Crime Mystery Book Shop and Cheesecake Joint, 10545 S. Eastern Ave., No. 100, Henderson.
Once up and going, the group will have speakers on topics of interest to mystery writers, such as forensic experts and agents.
One event already scheduled is a Sisters in Crime Marathon featuring member mystery authors from other cities speaking on panels, answering questions and signing books. This also will be at Cheesecake and Crime. For more information, call 629-5523.
There are 48 chapters of Sisters in Crime worldwide, with a total membership of 3,400.
