Skeleton found with hospital discharge papers

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police in Columbus have found a male skeleton along with hospital discharge papers and prescription medication that apparently belonged to the man.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that police discovered the skeleton in a wooded area Friday afternoon after receiving a 911 call. The Franklin County coroner told the newspaper that she cannot determine yet how the man died and that he hasn’t been positively identified.

Homicide detectives are investigating. The discharge papers did not indicate which hospital the man was discharged from. There’s a hospital about 1 ½ miles from where the bones were found.

The coroner says an anthropologist will be brought in to assist with the post-mortem.
