Student arrested after Yik Yak post threatening to kill black people on campus

A community college student in Saginaw, Mich., was arrested after posting a terrorist threat to the social media application Yik Yak, police said.

Emmanuel D. Bowden, 21 faces charges for making a false report or threat of terrorism, a felony that could put him behind bars for 20 years, according to MLive.

Saginaw Valley State University police said Bowden posted that he was "going to shoot every black person I can on campus. Starting tomorrow morning."

A police report says the student later posted "Its [sic] a joke," and said that he was black.

University police, working with the FBI, arrested Bowden Tuesday morning in Kochville Township on an unrelated warrant. While inside the residence hall, police called Bowden's phone to confirm it was the one used to post the threat, the reports state.

Bowden remains jailed on $10,000 bond in the Yik Yak case. He's also held on $4,500 bond on an Oct. 2 credit card-related fraud case.
