1. Holiday Harvest Festival: The event is planned as part of the Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31 at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. 2. Mountain Man Rendezvous: A gathering of costumed re-enactors is set to bring the 1830s fur trade to life from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 6375 state Route 159. Kids can also trunk-or-treat at the classic Ford and Mustang Car Show, where more than 50 cars will be on display, all of which will be decorated in Halloween decor. 4. Veterans Day celebration: The Large Vision Business Network Mixer plans to host 400 Jobs for 400 Vets, a Veterans Day celebration, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Grand Ballroom at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive. From 10 to 11 a.m., only veterans will be permitted (must show a DD-214 or military ID). A special presentation to salute the veterans of Clark County by the Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy Color Guard is set for 11:15 a.m. Clark County companies will be on hand to offer jobs for veterans. Entrepreneur opportunities, educational and training, and health and housing exhibits also are planned, along with food samples, live entertainment, raffle drawings and door prizes. Town Hall Meeting for Women Veterans: The town hall meeting is slated from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Department of Veterans Affairs, 6900 N. Pecos Road. The meeting is set to give Nevada's women veterans an opportunity to address concerns about issues that pertain to them. Topics are set to include military sexual trauma, counseling resources, financial assistance, group therapy, homelessness and mental health concerns, and the planning of future state-sponsored events for women veterans. Trunk-or-Treat: CenturyLink plans to host a free Trunk-or-Treat event from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 30 in its parking lot at 3436 Aldebaran Ave. Family-friendly activities planned include multiple bounce houses, carnival games, costumed characters, a petting zoo, a photo booth and a Major League Baseball batting game. Vehicles from community organizations will be onsite along with dozens of community partners with decorated car trunks filled with treats for families. Snacks will be available for purchase, and there will be booths showcasing local businesses. All proceeds will benefit United Way of Southern Nevada.

The Last Nevada Day Open House: The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at The Hammargren Home of Nevada History, 4318 Ridgecrest Drive. This will be the 20th time former Lt. Gov. and neurosurgeon Lonnie Hammargren has opened his house to celebrate Nevada Day. It is also one of several recent ones to be called the last. The home is actually three homes connected by bridges, tunnels and bric-a-brac, and the tour features the eclectic mix of historical and unusual objects he has collected over the years. Downtown Container celebrates Nevada Day and Halloween: The event is set to begin with a pumpkin patch, where kids can create their own jack-o-lanterns, and face painters and balloon artists at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at Downtown Container Park, 707 Fremont St. The first 250 children are set to receive a free trick-or-treating bag and glow sticks. A screening of "Monsters Inc." is scheduled at 6 p.m. The following day, the park's all-day Halloween party including games on the lawn, stories from The Writer's Block, a pumpkin decoration area, face painters, a petting zoo and trick-or-treating safety tips provided by the Metropolitan Police Department is scheduled to begin with a Zombie Zumbathon benefiting the American Red Cross and Celiac Disease Foundation at 11 a.m. Oct. 31. Barnyard in the Boneyard: The Neon Museum is set to partner with Horses4Heroes to host the event in its North Gallery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 at 770 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Sponsored by American Fence Company and Current Events, Horses4Heroes will provide a petting zoo for families and children. The cost is $5 per person for adults and children ages 2 or older. Life in Death: Day of the Dead: The two-day festival marking El Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is planned for 5 p.m. Nov. 1 and 2 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive. The event will explore cultural traditions relating to the Mexican holiday and is set to feature ofrendas, or altars built by families and other groups in memory of deceased relatives and other beloved individuals, along with performances, Mexican crafts for sale and food.
