Summerlin prepares for expansion

Development activity is well under way in The Paseos village of Summerlin as The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin, prepares for significant growth. Five new-home neighborhoods are scheduled to open this year along with an extension of the village's trail system. It will span the width of the village connecting neighborhoods and amenities in a private, landscaped arroyo.
Additional infrastructure work, including utility and road construction, is in progress in the village's northern region to accommodate future expansion.
Andalusia by Woodside Homes and Lennar are selling neighborhoods in The Paseos.
Woodside Homes features three home floor plans that range from 2,986 to 3,439 square feet, priced from the mid-$300,000s.
Lennar Homes offers four home floor plans ranging from 3,125 to 3,864 square feet priced in the high $300,000s.
An interest list is forming for two additional neighborhoods by Woodside Homes: Castille and Andorra.
Castille features two-story homes ranging from 2,236 to 2,518 square feet while Andorra offers one- and two-story homes ranging from 2,013 to 3,147 square feet. Call 702-869-0266 for additional information on these two neighborhoods.
Lennar and Toll Brothers are expected to announce details about its future neighborhoods in The Paseos village.

The Paseos is a mission/hacienda-inspired village near Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
To visit the village, exit the Las Vegas Beltway westbound on West Charleston Boulevard, make a right on Desert Foothills Drive and turn left on Desert Sunrise Road.
Summerlin began to take shape in 1990. National and regional studies have ranked it in the country's top 10 best-selling master-planned communities for nearly two decades.
Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres with about 6,600 acres still remaining to accommodate future growth within the master plan.
The community is currently home to more than 100,000 residents.
Amenities include more than 150 neighborhood and village parks, more than 150 miles of the Summerlin Trail System, 26 public and private schools, 14 houses of worship, nine golf courses, shopping centers, medical and cultural facilities and business parks.
Homes are available in a variety of styles - from single-family homes to townhomes, condominiums and lofts - priced from the $200,000s to more than $1 million.
