Summerlin is encouraging its fans to celebrate the season via an interactive Facebook initiative to spread holiday cheer throughout the community.
Members of the Summerlin Holiday Cheer Patrol are residents of the community as well as its Facebook fans. All members are encouraged to spread holiday spirit by reporting on all things happy and holiday-esque on Summerlin's Facebook page, including locations of Summerlin homes or businesses with festive holiday displays, favorite holiday CDs and music, great gift ideas or super holiday deals, delicious holiday recipes or recipe requests, holiday decorating tips or anything fun, happy and holiday-oriented.
Anyone can become a fan of Summerlin on Facebook and comment on all things merry and bright in the community. And residents can upload photos of friends and families celebrating the season with loved ones in Summerlin.
"There's an unlimited amount of options," said Nikkole Liesse, director of marketing for Summerlin. "We encourage our Holiday Cheer Patrol to be creative and have fun. This is just a small way to share the spirit and beauty of the season with each other."
Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., Summerlin is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a year-long celebration that commenced in May 2010.
Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres with 7,500 acres still remaining to accommodate future growth within the master plan.
