Skating rink plans Spring Break hours

Boulder Crystal Palace Skating Center, 4680 Boulder Highway, plans spring break hours from noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday . Admission is $8 or $9 with skate rental. Local Historian set to speak
on impact of 'Pawn Stars'

Mark Hall-Patton, administrator for the Clark County Museums and a consultant for the television program "Pawn Stars," is set to speak on the impact of "Pawn Stars" and the history of the Clark County Museum from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. April 10 at the Cora Coleman Senior Center, 2100 Bonnie Lane. Wetlands Park to celebrate birds

The Clark County Wetlands Park, Southern Nevada Water Authority, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Southern Nevada Agency Partnership and the Red Rock Audubon Society are set to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 14 at the Clark County Wetlands Park, 7050 Wetlands Park Lane. Planned events include storytelling, making environmentally sound bird feeders, experimenting with owl pellets and the Explore! Mobile Exhibit.

The event is free, but space is limited.

Center to host Hot Diggity Dog

Hot Diggity Dog, a monthly event featuring dog socialization and a speaker, is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. April 12 at the Cora Coleman Senior Center, 2100 Bonnie Lane.

This month's speaker, Suzie Sadler, plans to provide grooming tips and massage instruction.

A Spring Break Day Camp is planned from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday at the Walnut Recreation Center, 3075 N. Walnut Road. The U.S. Legends Cars International Sunday Shootout Race No. 1 is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for children younger than 6.

Devil Pup Leadership meeting planned

An informational meeting for prospective Devil Pups and their parents is planned at noon April 21 at the Leatherneck Club, 4360 W. Spring Mountain Road. The Devil Pups program trains teens 14 to 17 on Saturday mornings in preparation for a 10-day leadership and physical fitness training program at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California. Only a handful of the teens nationwide pass the rigorous tests for entrance to the camp.
