The Act nightclub appeared to be trashed on final night

A Las Vegas nightclub under scrutiny for alleged sex acts appeared to be trashed hours after employees were informed Saturday night the venue was being closed by club management.

Broken glass and debris from what was described as “one last crazy party” covered the floor in front of the stage on Sunday. Tables and velvet rope stanchions were overturned

The Act’s in-house photographer Shane O’Neal said normal partying was going on when he left about 3:30 a.m.

When he returned about 4 p.m., “the room was tossed,” hesaid.

Several performers were packing their costumes, said O’Neal, who in June was hired to cover closing night of the Playboy Club at the Palms.

One of the final-night revelers, Mark Shunock, a lead singer in the “Rock of Ages” show at The Palazzo, said he checked out the venue late Monday when he found the main door unlocked.

A cleanup crew had begun working, he said, but insisted “it definitely wasn’t ransacked. Trashed is too heavy a word. There was debris but it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned from a night of one last crazy party.”

A Clark County District Court judge had ruled last month that The Act had to edit 13 of 30 skits because they failed to meet the lease provisions. The landlord, the Las Vegas Sands, had taken legal steps after the alleged violations.

Shunock had gone to The Act after performing in “Rock of Ages” to “offer condolences.” He left the club about 2 a.m. Sunday then returned with his parents about 11 p.m. Monday.

Shunock had planned to launch a fundraising series called “Mondays Dark” next week at The Act. He said the event will be postponed to Nov. 18 at a venue to be determined.

“I’ve been bombarded with (venue) offers,” he said. “Caesars, Hard Rock and a couple places downtown.”
