These are the most popular Halloween costumes in Nevada

Still trying to figure out who or what you're going to be for Halloween? With 15 days left to decide, Influenster polled more than 40,000 users across all 50 states, to find out America's favorite Halloween costumes.

Keeping with pop culture trends, Elsa from "Frozen," "Despicable Me" minions and zombies were still among the most popular costumes, according to the report. However, traditional costumes, such as witches, police officers, nurses and fairies continue to be some of the most sought-after choices.

While some might think the Silver State isn't as trendy as our neighbors in California, who chose Alice from "Alice in Wonderland" as their favorite, Nevadans aren't known for not keeping up with trends, which is why it could be hard to fathom that a pumpkin was deemed the most popular costume in Nevada.

Of course, there's absolutely nothing wrong with dressing up as a pumpkin for Halloween. Along with various other fruits and vegetables, pumpkins make some of the most adorable costumes for babies.

Because we weren't totally convinced pumpkins are this year's most coveted costume for kids, we reached out to costume shops throughout the state to hear which outfits they've seen have the most buzz around.

  • With The Force Awakens set to debut in December, characters from "Star Wars" have been the most popular costume at the Party City on Northtowne Lane in Reno.
  • Not far off, the Party City on Tropical Parkway in Las Vegas said they're most popular costumes for boys have been ninjas and for girls, the characters from "Frozen".
  • Likewise, according to the Disney Store inside the Fashion Show Mall, "Frozen's" Elsa and Anna have been their most sought-after costumes.
  • Black Cat Costumes on Sahara said characters from Star Wars are their most popular boys costumes and of course, Disney characters are the go-to costume for girls.
  • HalloweenMart on Decatur in Las Vegas did not continue the pattern of "Frozen" costumes. At their store, "Halo" has been the most popular kids costume.
  • At Star Costumes in Las Vegas, the most requested costumes have been Harley Quinn, "Game of Thrones"-esque characters, zombies and Maleficent. For the second year running, Anna and Elsa from "Frozen" are still going strong.

Tammy Moyle, a Las Vegas mother, searched four different stores and various websites to locate the costume her son wanted. Although it's not on the radar of any of the stores mentioned above, Moyle was hunting the costume of "Miles from Tomorrowland" on Disney Jr.

We're betting this costume is probably more popular than a pumpkin.
