BASIC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WINS BRIDGE CONTEST
Basic High School student Misael Espinoza Vega won the high school division of the 2015 Southern Nevada Regional Student Model Bridge Building Contest March 7 at UNLV, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
More than 400 bridges from 55 schools entered the competition, which was presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation.
Vega and runner-up LeAnn Chung from Clark High School are set to represent the local region at the International Bridge Building Contest planned for April 25 in Portland, Ore.
