Town Square Las Vegas wins design and development award

The International Council of Shopping Centers Inc. announced that Town Square Las Vegas won a Silver U.S. Design and Development Award in its inaugural competition. ICSC's awards recognize projects for excellence in the creation of new retail projects, and in the expansion or redevelopment of existing projects within the continental United States.

Town Square won its silver award in the innovative design and development of a new project category. This category recognizes projects which relate to a specific new shopping center and demonstrate how a specific design or construction problem was solved or how new standards in design and construction were established.

The designers of Town Square approach to a new neighborhood-style retail and entertainment community center featured a combination of public parks, retail, office, dining and entertainment options, all oriented around a central town square with fountains and courtyards. Town Square features family-friendly facilities including a children's park with a carousel, bookstores, art galleries, gourmet market and an 80,000-square-foot, 18-screen second-level multiplex theater. Town Square includes more than 200,000 square feet of loft office space above street-level retail and a boutique hotel is planned.

Town Square is owned, managed, developed by Turnberry Associates and Centra Properties.
