Veteran may lose home for flying flag

A veteran in Florida may lose his house because he kept a small American flag in a flower pot.

WKMG reports that Larry Murphree was fined about $8,000 and was asked to remove the flag because it violates the homeowners association’s rules.

He has 30 days to remove the flag and pay the fine or the HOA will follow through on a foreclosure lien.

“I want it to go away,” Murphree said to WKMG. “It’s such a minor little thing and they keep coming after me.”
