Video surfaces of ASU professor’s aggravated assault arrest

A video of an Arizona State University professor’s aggravated assault arrest last month has surfaced and she believes police acted unjustly.

ASU English professor Ersula Ore was stopped by police for “obstruction of a public thoroughfare,” or walking in the middle of the street near campus, and was handcuffed by police and forced to the ground.

“I’m a professor at the University of Arizona State,” Ore pleaded with police in a video provided by AZFamily. “Are you seriously going to stand there and let this happen?”

“Put your hand behind your back,” the officer told Ore. “I’m going to slam you on this car. Put your hand behind your back.”
