Wal-Mart shopper allegedly sets fire to Halloween costumes — VIDEO

A northern California Wal-Mart customer is accused of dousing an aisle of Halloween costumes with lighter fluid and lighting them on fire.

According to San Leandro Police Lt. Robert McManus, the man had been loitering inside the store for several hours carrying a bottle of lighter fluid. He said the man poured the lighter fluid in several areas of the store before lighting the costumes on fire.

The fire then spread to the Halloween candy, KCRA reports.

Police and firefighters arrived on scene and assisted in putting out the fire and detaining the unidentified suspect.

The suspect was take to the hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation before being transported to jail. No other injuries were reported.

Police are still unclear of the motive behind the fire.
