Which GOP presidential candidate are Nevadans most interested in? — MAP
Which Republican presidential candidate has been weighing on the minds of most Americans since the last GOP debate held in Las Vegas? According to findings by Google Trends, Donald Trump.
In an effort to see which candidate has been searched the most, Google researchers poured through search traffic to see which Republican presidential hopefuls its users had been searching for most often from the Nov. 10 debate through Dec.15 — the day of the latest Republican debate in Las Vegas.
While Google Trends isn't an accurate measure, the results are interesting to look at. Searching for a candidate doesn't imply that the person is doing so out of political bias.
Donald Trump was the top-searched candidate across the country. Although he dominated traffic in almost all 50 states after the latest debate, the map isn't as one-sided as it was following the candidates' first meeting in August.
Dr. Ben Carson remained the second most-searched candidate in both maps. In the most recent map, Carson's reign isn't of as much interest as it was in the initial findings.
With the exception of six counties — two of which had no results — Nevada was primarly Trump-heavy, with the two biggest counties, Clark and Washoe, looking for the business mogul on Google the most.
Three counties — Mineral, Lander and Pershing — searched most for Carson. And, in Lincoln County, Ted Cruz was the most-searched candidate.
