Why don’t Democrats replace Pelosi with Hoyer?

I wonder that every time I see the affable Steny Hoyer representing the Democrats on television, instead of Pelosi.
This morning Rep. Hoyer appeared on all the cable channels to talk about the process by which the House plans to provide transparency on the health care "reform" bill.

He's articulate. Confident. Funny. Not to put too fine a point on it ... he's everything Nancy Pelosi isn't.
If I were king of the Democrats (which I most certainly am not), I'd have Hoyer out front, not Nancy Pelosi. Every time.
BTW: Hoyer was in Las Vegas a few weeks back and made some remarks to a small group in one of those fancy suites at Caesars Palace. In his brief remarks he delivered a funny quip about his host, former Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones.
I can't repeat it because it was told to me in confidence. But, trust The Complete Las Vegan when he tells you it was very, very funny.
Replace Pelosi with Hoyer! Who's with me?
Ok. Ok. I know my readership ... let's try that again.
