Zimmerman’s bloody head

The bond hearing for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case brought a surprising development: Zimmerman took the stand and apologized to Martin's mom and dad.

Normally, a defense attorney would not allow his defendant to do that at this point. But Zimmerman must have insisted on it. It was a decent thing to do.

In other news, ABC News revealed pictures of Zimmerman's bloodied head taken minutes after police arrived. That's going to be an important piece of evidence in the trial. And if I were betting on it (which of course I am not) I'd say those photos will weigh heavily on the jury in Zimmerman's favor.
